The Troggs

Last night Dudeboy, Hooch, Terry and I explored a cave located in Metcalfe County. As my poor photos will attest, this cave is loaded with exceptional formations. The entrance of the cavern is situated above the site of an old mill. Both the cave and waterfall are located on private property. I'd be hard pressed to think of a better way to spend a Tuesday evening.

For scale, look for Dudeboy in top right corner of the photo (he has on a pale yellow shirt). He is sitting on the remnants of the old mill.

One of the many massive formations in the cave.

We emerged from the darkness into darkness . . . but it was a beautiful moonlit night.

You mean trespassing? Seriously, I'm jealous, it looks like fun. Just remember Floyd Collins. Which reminds me, do you have that Floyd Collins song? You should burn that "Unsung Heroes" album by Phil Alvin.

Well son, if you'd look at the stuff I gave you you'd see that the old version by Vernon Dalhart is on the People Take Warning vol. 2 Man Vs. Nature album.

Just realized that.

Those are some neat pictures considering camera, lighting, etc. Malc, have your Dad read you '220 Swift' sometime, so you can go walking up and down under the earth again. Wish I could have been there. We would have forged ahead.

Your pictures are far better than mine, Todd. What did you do to light up the interior so well?
